Eric Sung
Graduate Student

Eric is a PhD candidate in the Department of Biomedical Engineering. Prior to joining the lab, he graduated from Rice University with a double major in computational and applied mathematics B.A. and mathematics B.A. with a minor in neuroscience in 2016. His background was in computational neuroscience with a focus on multi-compartmental models of single neurons. He joined the Hopkins Medical Scientist Training Program in Fall 2016 and completed the first two years of pre-clinical medical school course work prior to starting his PhD. His current research focuses on translating computational cardiac model results into usable clinical predictions. His research interests involve modeling of biophysical systems, applying machine learning tools to better understand data, and how to bring computational methods from research to the clinical bedside. Outside of research, Eric enjoys bboying and has on occasion performed with hip hop dance groups for various events.
