Job Description. The Computational Cardiology Lab (PI: Natalia Trayanova, trayanovalab.org) at the Department of Biomedical Engineering and the Alliance for Cardiovascular Diagnostic Innovation (heartadvance.jhu.edu), Johns Hopkins University, is advertising an open postdoctoral fellow position at the interface of machine learning and computational modeling. The Postdoctoral Scholars/ Research Scientists will perform research on NIH-funded translational projects. The Lab is developing and translating to the clinic artificial intelligence approaches for the prognosis and treatment of heart rhythm disorders. Our current work focuses on risk of sudden cardiac death and other adverse cardiac outcomes. We are looking for postdoctoral fellows with experience in machine learning and deep learning, including in medical imaging, with the goal to develop automated diagnostic systems and clinical decision support in cardiology and cardiac electrophysiology.

Job Requirements. Candidates must hold a PhD in biomedical engineering/bioengineering, applied math, statistics, computer science, or closely related fields and must have lead-author publication(s) in machine learning. Candidates should also have strong communication skills and the ability to work both independently and as part of a collaborative team. Prior experience in machine learning and programming skills is a must.
